A grande vencedora do MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) deste ano foi a cantora Beyoncé.
A cerimônia de premiação aconteceu no Madison Square Garden, em Nova York, na noite de domingo, dia 28. Beyoncé venceu a categoria de melhor vídeo do ano, a mais importante da noite. A cantora, no entanto, não ficou apenas com este prêmio. Ao todo, Beyoncé levou 8 troféus.
Além de melhor vídeo do ano, ela conquistou os prêmios de melhor vídeo feminino, melhor vídeo de pop, melhor vídeo em longa-metragem, melhor coreografia, melhor cinematografia, melhor direção e melhor edição. "Quero agradecer minha bela filha e meu incrível marido por seu apoio", afirmou a cantora ao receber um dos prêmios.
Segundo o site G1, outra cantora que também se destacou na premiação foi Rihanna ao conquistar o prêmio honorário Michael Jackson Video Vanguard. Ela ainda premiou o público apresentando grandes sucessos da carreira durante o evento, como Diamonds, Please Don't Stop The Music e Only Girl (In The World).
